In addition, at the event which was held on a hybrid basis in Jakarta, Papua, and a number of other regions in Indonesia; Huawei also makes donations to various orphanages in the country.

“Indonesia is a country with the largest number of islands in the world. This unique feature makes connectivity very important to unite Indonesia from east to west. During the pandemic connectivity becomes increasingly important to drive digital transformation. It helps ensure that no one is left behind in an increasingly digital world. At Huawei’s Ramadan CSR event today we put special emphasis on providing inclusive access to the digital world for schools in Papua. As a part of developing digital talent, we believe that children, especially those in remote areas deserves to enjoy connectivity as well as equal education,” said Wang Bin (Vice President, Management Transformation, Huawei Indonesia).

“The existence of digital technology that can be used by educational units to accelerate the quality of learning is still very far away,” said Dra. Sri Wahyuningsih, M.Pd (Director of Elementary School, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia). “For elementary schools, which number 149,000 public and private primary school education units from Sabang to Marauke, only 28% of education units have adequate ICT facilities to accelerate education services through digital technology. Of course, this figure is still very far from the needs in Indonesia.” education sector to be able to transform the quality of learning,” he explained.
