goodmorningpapua.com – The Papua Provincial Information Commission (KI Papua) received two drafts, namely the Academic Manuscript and the Draft of Provincial Regulation (Perdasi) of Papua concerning Openness and the Right to Obtain Public Information in the Implementation of Local Government from the Cenderawasih University Expert Team.
The submission of these two drafts was given directly by Dr. Frans Reumi, SH, MH to the Chairman of KI Papua, Wilhelmus Pigai who was accompanied by the Deputy Chair of KI Papua, Andriani Wally and Head of Research and Documentation of KI Papua, Syamsuddin Levi at the KI Papua Office, Jayapura City, Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
The chairman of KI Papua, Wilhelmus Pigai said, in the near future, the draft of Perdasi on openness and the right to access public information in the administration of local government will be carried out an in-depth study of the KI Papua.
“This draft is one of the work programs of KI Papua as the vision and mission set out in the strategic plan (renstra) of KI Papua for this period,” Wilhelmus said in a press release to the media, Friday, December 31, 2021.
Wilhelmus said that the purpose of pushing for the draft of Perdasi was as a start so that the Papuan provincial government could synergize more with KI Papua. “What we are doing is the mandate of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information and other implementing regulations that want to encourage clean and transparent government for public services in the future,” he explained.
Wilhelmus also said that it is hoped that the IP of Papua with the existence of this Perdasi, so that starting from the provincial government to the district-city government can implement Law No. 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information and can be used wisely.
“This is an initiative of KI Papua in carrying out information openness in Papua by encouraging regulations on public information transparency like the Perdasi. So that later on, the government and public bodies in providing public information services can be facilitated, both from the government and the community, “explained Wilhelmus.
Deputy Chairperson of KI Papua Andriani Wally said that the existence of this Perdasi would later make it easier for the Papua provincial government and also KI Papua in institutional strengthening. “This Perdasi can strengthen the performance of the Papua Province government, especially strengthening the performance of PPID at every existing level. It can also strengthen Papuan intellectual property institutions,” he said.
