Diskominfo Jayapura and YII Sign MoU to Develop 5G Network in Rural Areas

goodmorningpapua.com – A Jayapura Regency Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo) collaborates with the Indonesian Internet Foundation (YII) to develop 5G networks in rural areas. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 2022 Archipelago Digitalization Expo & Summit event held by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, YII, and supported by the Surakarta City Government, Wednesday 30 March 2022.

A Chairman of the Indonesian Internet Foundation, Jamalul Izza said, through this collaboration the foundation will facilitate work partners to do a survey on the construction of 5G BTS in Jayapura Regency.

“Later, our partners will survey first, which locations can be developed for a 5G network,” said Jamalul in a release received by KabarPapua.co, Thursday, March 31, 2022.

The signing of this MoU also includes training that will be provided by the Foundation through the Indonesian Technology House Program to the community in Jayapura Regency. In the same vein, A Head of the Jayapura Regency Communications and Information Office, Gustaf Griapon, said that the target of developing this new technology was a village.

“In Jayapura Regency, there are 139 villages, 5 sub-districts and 19 sub-districts. With this latest technology, we will definitely carry out socialization,” explained Gustaf.

Later, Gustaf continued, partners from the foundation will work together with BUMDes to conduct site surveys. This collaboration also includes educating the public to be more productive using the internet when new technology enters the countryside.

“This collaboration also includes educational assistance and digital literacy for people in villages so that it has an impact on the local community’s economy,” he explained.
