Construction of a Worship House in Jayawijaya as Shared Responsibility

goodmorningpapua.com – A Jayawijaya Regent, Jhon Richard Banua, did the first milestone for the construction of a new Catholic Church building in Itlay Hisage District, Saturday 8 January 2022.

He was grateful for being invited to lay the first stone for the new church building. “Thank you for the spirit of the village head and the committee starting the work of God’s house,” explained Regent Jhon.

The Regent also ensured that the Jayawijaya Regency Government would support the smooth construction of this church building. He explained that in Itlay Hisage District there are 3 church denominations. “One of the churches has been inaugurated and another church is almost completed under construction,” he said.

The Jayawijaya Regional Government ensures that the construction of houses of worship is a shared responsibility until it is completed later. “So, the church construction is not only the responsibility of the government, but it is a shared responsibility,” he said.
