Concern for Health Protocol (Prokes), a XX Papua PON Task Force Shares 2 Million Masks – The Task Force for the National Sports Week (PON) XX Papua had shared 2 million masks in four clusters/locations for the implementation of PON XX Papua, which would be carried out starting Tuesday (10/13/2021). The distribution of masks was carried out in Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika Regency and Merauke Regency. This number exceeded the specified target, which is 1 million.

A Head of the Sub Task Force, volunteers, TNI/Polri and  the related OPDs such as the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) or Satpol PP, and Firefighters were actively involved in the success of this activity.

“The distribution of free masks is one of the activations of the PON XX Health Care Task Force post in addition to providing PCR machine assistance, the activities of the Health Care Task Force post in 4 clusters of organizing and providing health care assistance for EO and Panpel PON XX,” said the Head of the Papua XX PON Health Project Task Force Prasinta Dewi in a written statement, Thursday (14/10/2021).

It is known, since September 26, 443 volunteers had distributed approximately 25,000 to 91,000 masks to the public at the match venue and spectators outside the match venue.

In addition, other targets were educational facilities, government agencies, religious facilities, airports, markets, and crowded places. This movement could shift at any time because the volunteers were equipped with 12 masks.

Apart from distributing masks, volunteers distributed hand sanitizers to visitors at mask outlets and provided education to the public about health protocols.

The mask distribution program is an effort by the government to prevent the risk of a spike in cases due to increased mobility, the potential for crowds to appear, the limitations of health protocol facilities and infrastructure, and the wide circle of participant interactions in a big event of PON XX of Papua.

A spokesman for the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, said that Indonesia was said to have succeeded in preventing a soar of the cases in the middle of the XX Papua PON event.

“So far, only 83 positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been found from nearly 10,000 participants who took part in PON XX or 0.83 percent,” said Wiku.

Wiku said, nationally, Indonesia was able to maintain its Covid-19 control performance, which was proven to be a country with the highest Revocery Index score in Southeast Asia.

“This assessment is viewed from the aspect of case control management, vaccination, and the mobility of a country,” he said.
