Citizens of Kandowarira Papua Get Happy, Village Road Becomes Smooth. – The Regent of Yapen Islands, Tonny Tesar visited Minsioni and Kandowarira villages, Saturday, October 1, 2022. The visit which was held in the afternoon was warmly welcomed by the people of both villages.

The people’s joy was mixed with happiness because the condition of the village roads had been smooth thanks to the attention of the leaders of the two periods of the Yapen Archipelago. Even though the road has been complained of because it has been damaged for a long time.

“Thank you, the public can see that we have a road, this is what we have been waiting for, thanks to the regent Tonny Tesar,” said Yohan Wayoi, a resident of Kandowarira Village.

Before being repaired, the 2-kilometer road connecting the two villages was full of sharp gravel and of potholes. A number of expressions of gratitude were ejected from several residents, including local children.

Responding to the happiness of the community, the Regent of Yapen, Tonny Tesar said, the construction or repair of roads is a commitment of the local government.

Tony also ensures that the development program for the people will continue even though he is no longer the Regent of Yapen Islands.

“Finally we can do it too, in the future the next village, namely Mantembu, we will also work on the road. Although I am no longer regent, the development program will continue to be monitored by the Yapen DPRD, development for the people will continue,” he said.
