goodmorningpapua.com – The Papua Provincial People’s Representative Council (DPRP) held a joint Christmas Celebration in the parking area behind the DPRP Office, Friday 16 December 2022.
This Christmas celebration with the big family of the Papuan DPR was greeted enthusiastically by the Papuan people. The DPRP Christmas also involved local Papuan entrepreneurs.
The chairman of the Papuan DPR, Jhony Banua Rouw, in his remarks conveyed the reasons for inviting elements of the community to attend the Christmas Celebration together with the DPRP.
“DPRP is indeed present from the people and for the people, with the momentum of Christmas with the DPRP it is hoped that it will not only be celebrated routinely, but celebrating it must really be with a sincere heart inviting the Lord Jesus to be present in the heart,” said Jhony.
In addition to inviting the public, the DPRP also involves local entrepreneurs, especially those selling at the market by providing food packages typical of the Papuan people.
“Christmas this year is not only for DPRP members and the extended family, but this is DPRP Christmas with the people in Papua. This momentum will become a tradition that is celebrated every year,” said Jhony.
He hopes that the peace of Christmas will always be in the hearts of every community, so it must be maintained. “For people in cities and villages to always maintain peace. For the Indonesian National Police, they also take part in overseeing the maintenance of peace, so that in this Christmas atmosphere we all feel at peace,” he said.
The Chairperson of the DPRP Papua Christmas Committee, Juliana J. Waromy told the DPR Papua extended family to see the meeting of the magi with the baby Jesus again.
So that in accoprdance with the theme of Christmas, namely God is pleased to show the way to meet the baby Jesus through the eastern star. “Hopefully all of us present can find a way to meet Jesus who was born in a lowly stable in Bethlehem to atone for our sins,” he said.
