goodmorningpapua.com – This Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holiday, Wings Air will soon fly to Boven Digoel. Wings Air announced that it will fly to Boven Digoel Regency via Tanah Merah Airport, South Papua (TMH). This route is directly connected to Jayapura via Sentani Airport in Papua (DJJ) and other cities.

Currently, Wings Air is preparing to complete documents and operations. On this flight, Wings Air operates new aircraft with modern technology types ATR 72-600 or ATR 72-500 as well as ground service equipment.

“Wings Air would like to thank the Government of Boven Digoel Regency, the Provincial Governments of Papua and South Papua, the central government (regulator), the manager of Tanah Merah Airport, the manager of Sentani Airport – PT Angkasa Pura I, the air traffic controller – AirNav Indonesia, and related parties in preparing and contributing to the smooth running of air travel for passengers,” said the source for Corporate Communications Strategic of Wings Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro in an official statement.

Wings Air is optimistic that flight operations and services to and from Tanah Merah Airport will improve the smooth running of air transportation. There are 4 values that are the advantages of opening this route, namely:

  • Shorten the distance between destinations

Expansion of flight routes through Tanah Merah, providing connecting flights to a wider variety of cities, is a transformation that is pro-environmental and long-term social welfare. Connected to and from Jakarta-Soekarno-Hatta, Makassar, Manokwari, Merauke, Sorong, Dekai, Kaimana, Nabire, Timika, Wamena and other cities.

  • Shorten travel time

The duration of travel by airplane is only around 60 minutes, thus facilitating accessibility for the public, businessmen and tourists.

  • Attract tourist visits to Papua and South Papua

Encouraging faster campaign programs for the Proud Traveling in Indonesia (BBWI) campaign program and facilitating the need for flights for Christmas (2022) and New Year’s (2023) momentum.

“The newest network of Wings Air for Tanah Merah is optimistic that it will be able to accelerate the medium-term development of Boven Digoel Regency by paying attention to its alignment with the priorities and directions of national and provincial development policies,” he said.
