Celebrating Sumpah Pemuda [Youth Pledge] Day, a Provincial Government of Papua Asks Millennials to Help a Regional Economy

goodmorningpapua.com – In celebrating of Youth Pledge Day, the Papuan Provincial Government (Pemprov) left a special message to the younger generation, especially millennials.

The Head of the Papua Province Communication and Information Office, Jery Yudianto, said that Youth Pledge Day could be the right moment for millennials to commit in assisting the government to improve the regional economy.

“Previously, we appreciated the many young people who were involved in the 2021 Pacific Exposition. At this event, they helped as translators and other jobs. This is one of the efforts to increase economic growth in the Papua region,” said Jery by telephone, Friday (29 /10/2021).

According to Jery, millennials have the advantage in terms of creativity and fighting spirit. Therefore, he advised the millennial generation to be able to channel it into positive activities that have a good impact on the environment. In addition, the spirit of Youth Pledge Day is also expected to strengthen the sense of unity among the nation’s children.

“With the rapid development of the digital world, young people have an important role to play in creating a conducive situation so that all aspects of people’s lives can develop,” he explained.

Previously, the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, had officially released the Papuan contingent to take part in the XVI 2021 Peparnas at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Friday (10/29/2021). For him, the implementation of Peparnas is very necessary to prove that Indonesia has applied the equality principle for all its citizens.

“The implementation of Peparnas XVI is a very important part of the Papua Provincial Government’s efforts to build and encourage equal rights and positions for people with disabilities to develop their potential in the sports field,” said Lukas.

Lukas hopes that the Papuan contingent will be able to achieve the best because of its position as the host. He also promised to give bonuses to athletes who were able to acquire achievements in Peparnas.

“I encourage and give the fighting spirit to the entire Papuan contingent. I hope you can bring the good name and make Papua proud. The government of Papua will pay attention to the top achievements you all have achieved,” said Lukas.
