goodmorningpapua.com – The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) distributed food packages to the aged people in Puncak Papua. The moment of sharing was carried out in commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
The distribution of basic needs was led by the Head of PMI Puncak Regency, Elpina Kogoya Wandik, S.Km, M,Kes at Ilaga Market, the capital city of Puncak Papua Regency, on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
The elderly seemed enthusiastic in distributing basic necessities. Even this sharing moment became a place to fight each other to receive a basic food package containing 5 kilograms of rice, sugar, sardines and cooking oil.
To note, the groceries distributed are the result of donations from PMI Puncak Regency volunteers.
Moreover, in the last few months there have been shootings by armed civilian groups in Ilaga and have an impact on the economy.
“We hope that these basic necessities can ease the burden of the aged mothers who receive Bama. These basic necessities are the result of donations from PMI volunteers who are intended to help others,” he said.
Elpina Kogoya told the recipients not to look at the contents of the assistance provided, but from PMI’s sincere intention to share with others, especially the aged people.
