goodmorningpapua.com – TOPRODUCTION production house, finally completed a documentary film entitled Lamek. The film about Lamek Dowansiba’s struggle to establish dozens of reading houses will be screened for the first time on Saturday 10 September 2022.
A Director of TOPRODUCTION, Sidarman stated that this 41 minute documentary film took the background image in Testega Village, Anggi District, Arfak Mountains Regency. “As the title implies, this documentary tells about the up and down of Lamek Dowansiba and his fellow literacy activists in Manokwari to fight illiteracy to the interior of West Papua,” Darman explained through a release on Friday (9/9).
According to Darman, in making this film, he and his team have been doing research for almost a year. Starting from character recognition to digging up information related to educational issues in this area. “We all have the same responsibility to improve the quality of education in Papua. We happen to be in the field of art and content creators. So this film is at the same time our contribution. These gratitudes can open our eyes to see the current state of our education,” added Darman.
Regarding the process of making the film, according to Darman, his party collaborated with Imaji Papua. The founder of Imaji Papua, Yulika Anastasia, who has experience in making a number of documentaries, was asked to become the director. In addition, the entire crew involved are TOPRODUCTION personnel. “We deliberately collaborated to work on this film so that the results we get can be maximized. Because then, we will participate in this Lamek Film in a number of Film Festival events. The closest one, we will immediately send materials to register for the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI),” said Darman.
It is planned that the premiere of the film Lamek will be held in two places. This weekend, the premiere screening and discussion will be held in Manokwari (10/9). Furthermore, at the beginning of next week (12/9), the screening will be held at the Arfak Mountains Regent’s Office.
