Caring about Students in Sugapa, Netizens Donate Hundreds of Shoes

goodmorningpapua.com – The Preventive Task Force Ops Damai Cartenz distributed hundreds of pairs of shoes for students at SMP Negeri 1 Yokatapa, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Saturday 6 August 2022.

These hundreds of shoes are donations from netizens or Indonesian citizens who have been collected by means of the Tiktok account belonging to Bripda Agung Pangestu.

“Yes, today we distributed 330 pairs of shoes we got from Indonesian people (netizens) through social media. The children are very cheerful and happy,” said Bripda Agung, Sunday, August 7, 2022.

Agung said that the assistance from netizens began when he shared several social activities through his social media account. This upload attracted the attention of Agung’s followers to participate in helping the children in Sugapa.

“It turns out that not only we here (Papua) care, but other Indonesian people also care about the condition of children in Papua. This is one of the best forms of nationalism I have ever seen, especially ahead of the Indonesian Independence Day. Thank you good people,” said Agung.

The Commander of the Damai Cartenz Preventive Ops Task Force, Ipda Irwan, said he was proud of the success of his personnel who used social media to help children in Sugapa.

“Students are very enthusiastic about the distribution of shoes. (Moreover) the personnel distribute it by offering it like a shoe seller to the children while putting them on,” said Irwan.

Separately, the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Ops Damai Cartenz, Kombes Ahmad Mustofa Kamal said that the netizen’s concern for children in Sugapa was the success of one member of the Preventive Task Force in utilizing social media.

“This is one of the best uses of social media. And this is also a form of real action of nationalism shown by the Indonesian people through caring for each other,” he said.

Kamal, who is also the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, hopes that netizens’ concern can inspire other people to care about their brothers and sisters in Papua.
