BPJS Employment Ensures Coverage of All Treatment Costs for KKB Victims in Papua

goodmorningpapua.com – Another shooting by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Nduga, Papua, caused 10 deaths and 2 injuries. BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (BPJAMSOSTEK) swiftly conducts a Quick Response Service (LCT) to find out if there are workers who are victims.

Based on the results of coordination with related parties, it is known that a ship worker named Hasdin was one of the victims in the incident. The man who was working at the time of the incident suffered gunshot wounds to his legs and arms, so he had to receive intensive care at the Mimika Hospital. Fortunately, Hasdin is a member of the South Sulawesi Community Harmony Association and is registered as a Non-Wage Recipient (BPU) participant at BPJAMSOSTEK. So that the disaster that befell him is a work accident.

A Director of BPJAMSOSTEK Services Roswita Nilakurnia regretted the violence that occurred. His party ensures that BPJAMSOSTEK will bear all the costs of treating participants who are victims, until they recover without a cost limit. If the victim is unable to work for a while because he is still in the recovery period, BPJAMSOSTEK will also pay the Temporary Unable to Work (STMB) compensation of 100% of the reported wages for 12 months and then 50% of the wages until recovered.

Roswita said that similar incidents often occur, especially in conflict-prone areas. Therefore, his party appealed to all workers to equip themselves with employment social security protection, because risks at work can happen to anyone and at any time.

The government through BPJAMSOSTEK is here to provide protection through five programs, namely Work Accident Insurance (JKK), Death Insurance (JKM), Old Age Security (JHT), Pension Security (JP) and Job Loss Guarantee (JKP). “We hope that this incident will not happen again. However, this is also evidence of the importance of social security protection. Because with the protection from BPJAMSOSTEK, workers can work in peace which will indirectly increase their work productivity,” said Roswita in her statement, Friday (22/7).

Meanwhile in a separate place, the Head of the Special Program Participation Division, Aris Setiawan as Pps Head of the Jakarta Branch of the BPJAMSOSTEK Office, Menara Jamsostek also regretted the shooting carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Nduga, Papua. “We extremely spare this incident, hopefully an incident like this will not happen again,” he said. Furthermore, Aris invites all workers to protect themselves by becoming participants in BPJAMSOSTEK.

“Let’s protect ourselves with the social security program BPJAMSOSTEK,” said Aris. To note, the government through BPJAMSOSTEK is here to provide protection through five programs, namely Work Accident Insurance (JKK), Death Insurance (JKM), Old Age Security (JHT), Pension Security (JP) and Job Loss Guarantee (JKP).
