According to Tigor, the large-scale and retail trade sector had a direct impact as reflected in the rise in the Consumer Confidence Index to a level of 142, up from 124 in the second quarter of 2021.
“Furthermore, UMKM participating in PON XX are predicted to experience an increase in revenue of up to 60 percent,” he said.
He explained that the trade sector is predicted to increase by Rp. 52 billion-Rp. 105 billion, while the transportation and warehousing sector is estimated to increase by Rp. 71 billion-Rp. 110 billion or 1.94 percent (yoy) in 2021, driven by an increase in the quantity and price of airline tickets.
“The XX 2021 PON has been successfully implemented by the Papua Province, this has had a significant impact and has become a driver of economic recovery in the non-mining sector in Papua,” he said.
He added that with the support of better handling of COVID-19, it would be the key to further Papua’s economic recovery.
