goodmorningpapua.com – A Vice President Ma’ruf Amin did a working visit to the Papua region on Monday (28/11/2022) today. Ma’ruf is scheduled to visit four provinces, starting from Papua Province, South Papua Province, Central Papua and West Papua.
Based on a press release from the Press Bureau, Media Information, a Secretariat of the Vice President, Ma’ruf started the agenda for a working visit to Eastern Indonesia in advance to Jayapura using the Indonesian Air Force’s Boeing 737-400 Presidential Aircraft at 08.00 WIB. Ma’ruf accompanied by Ms. Wury Ma’ruf Amin and a limited entourage took off from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.
Then, the entourage will transit for a while at Pattimura Ambon International Airport, Maluku Province to refuel before continuing their flight to Sentani Jayapura International Airport, Papua Province. As a Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Acceleration of Special Autonomy in Papua (BP3OKP) or known as the Papua Steering Committee (BPP), Ma’ruf is scheduled to arrive at Sentani Jayapura International Airport at 16.50 WITA.
He will be welcomed by the Regional Secretary of the Papua Province and Members of the Papua Provincial Leadership Coordination Forum. Next, the Vice President headed to the inn where the Vice President spent the night and will continue his work agenda in Jayapura on Tuesday (29/11) tomorrow.
The Vice President’s working visit this time focuses on the government’s efforts to accelerate welfare development in Papua. This is in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 121 of 2022 concerning the Agency for the Acceleration of Development of Special Autonomy for Papua (BP3OKP), the Vice President was appointed by the President to become the Chairperson of BP3OKP on 21 October.
The main agenda of the Vice President in Jayapura, namely Ma’ruf, will hold discussions regarding the implementation of the Papua Special Autonomy together with the ranks of the Papuan People’s Representative Council (DPRP), MRP (Papuan People’s Assembly), the Regional Secretary of the Papua Province and their staff, and will inspect the Secretariat Room of the Papua Steering Committee (BPP).
Apart from that, Ma’ruf will carry out several other activities while in Jayapura, namely observing the Community BLK Independence Exhibition; delivery of social assistance to beneficiary representatives, including business assistance or People’s Business Credit (KUR) from Bank Papua and Himbara Bank, symbolic submission of Business Identification Number (NIB), submission of vocational certificates, and delivery of assistance to Indigenous Papuans ( OAP) by the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) Papua Province. The Vice President will also meet the people and children of Papua.
Apart from Jayapura, he will continue his working visit to several areas, such as Merauke, Timika, Kaimana and Biak which will be the last point of his visit while in Papua. Then, on the 6th day Ma’ruf will continue his working visit agenda to Makassar, South Sulawesi before returning to Jakarta.
It was stated, through his working visit, Ma’ruf wanted a comprehensive strategy to encourage Papua’s leading commodities, both the agriculture, tourism, fisheries and creative economy sectors. He also wants to ensure the upholding of the principle of “No One Left Behind”, namely that indigenous Papuans are not left behind, even indigenous Papuans must play a strategic role in accelerating development and special autonomy for Papua.
Accompanying the Vice President on this working visit were the a Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, John Wempi Wetipo; Head of the Vice Presidential Secretariat, Ahmad Erani Yustika; Special Staff of the Vice President Masduki Baidlowi, Muhammad Imam Aziz, and Robikin Emhas; as well as the Expert Team of Vice President Nurdin Tampubolon and Johan Tedja Surya.
