An Action to Care for Jayapura Journalists, Repairing the Damaged Roads to Distribute Masks

goodmorningpapua.com – Journalists of Jayapura held a social service by repairing the damaged roads and distributing free masks in commemoration of the 2022 National Press Day (HPN) taking place on February 9, 2022.

The social service, which was centered in the Sentani Old Market area, involved Silas Papare Air Base, the Archipelago Community Solidarity Forum, the Sentani Military Command, Battalion RK 751/VJS, South Sulawesi Family Harmony, Semuwa Group and the Jayapura Police.

Jayapura Journalist Representative, Engel Wally, said that the social service to repair the damaged roads was a form of journalists’ concern for the bad road conditions in the Sentani Old Market area.

“We are press not only writing news, but this is also our concern as well as encouragement to the local government to pay more attention to the condition of the Old Market Sentani which is getting more and more chaotic every day,” he said, Saturday, February 12, 2022.

In addition to repairing damaged roads, the Jayapura journalists also distributed free masks to people who passed around Sentani Old Market. The goal is to invite the public to comply with health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On that occasion, Engel appreciated all parties involved in the smooth running of the concern held by Jayapura Journalists. “We are very grateful to all those who have helped make this event smooth,” he concluded.
