goodmorningpapua.com – The Conference Committee of the Indigenous Peoples Alliance of the Archipelago (AMAN) VI 2022 is still waiting for the support of the Papuan Provincial Government in organizing the congress which to take place next October.
“Currently we are continuing to improve, both in terms of village readiness and also the budget,” said the Chairperson of the AMAN VI Congress Committee in the Tabi Region, Mathius Awoitauw after chairing a committee meeting at the Barnabas Youwe Stadium Secretariat, Sentani, Monday, August 22, 2022.
Mathius Awoitauw admitted that there is currently no information from the Papuan Provincial Government regarding support for the congress. Whereas the AMAN Congress in the Tabi area will soon be held from October 24 to 30, 2022.
Mathius as well as the Regent of Jayapura Regency also admitted that he had sent a proposal to the Papua Province regarding the holding of the AMAN Congress, but there has been no response so far.
“Hopefully the governor (Governor Lukas Enembe) can provide a good response to support, because this committee is not only in the Tabi area but also from the center, so we hope that there will be support from the Papua Provincial Government,” he said.
Regarding progress, Mathius Awoitauw claims that the readiness in the field has been very good, only in some areas the committee still needs improvement in terms of budget.
“Hopefully everything goes smoothly and hopefully the Papua provincial government can also help,” hoped Mathius, who also admitted that he would continue to hold meetings to arrange the details of the budget for each sector.
