goodmorningpapua.com – The Forum for Creative Women Concerned for Economic Development and Democracy (FPKPPD) held a prayer of thanksgiving to welcome the Congress of the Alliance of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (AMAN) in Jayapura Regency.
The prayer of thanksgiving with groups of creative individuals and contractors began with a short worship service attended by members of the Papuan People’s Representative Council (DPRP), Yonas Alfons Nusi and the Indigenous Peoples and youth communities as well as Papuan culinary traders.
A Chairperson of FPKPPD, Esther Elisabeth Yaku said, the Creative Individual Program in the near future is to introduce gedi rolls typical of the Grimenawa area which in the local language is called Swamoning or Swotpun.
“I, as a traditional woman and the Chair of the FPKPPD together with this Creative Individual, will introduce the Swamoning Cart in the near future,” said Esther Elisabeth Yaku at the FPKPPD Secretariat, Doyo Baru, Waibu District, Saturday 30 April 2022.
Esther said that the AMAN Congress which will be held in Jayapura is the right moment to promote this special food from Grimenawa, so that everyone can enjoy it, especially guests or delegates from all over the archipelago.
The main target of this Creative Individual Program is the Lake Sentani Festival which will of course be the center of the crowd during the AMAN Congress.
“This program is also a step taken to introduce our culture as well as to help Papuan traders to be more advanced,” said Esther.
Esther hopes that the Jayapura Regency Government can provide trust, support and opportunities for indigenous Papuan entrepreneurs who really work with their hearts to build the land of Kenambai Umbai.
“We will continue to improve ourselves to be even better. We will continue to communicate with the Regional Government so that indigenous Papuan entrepreneurs can be accommodated and we are ready to provide guidance so that it will be even better in the future, “she said.
