goodmorningpapua.com – The Papuan Provincial Government opened a public kitchen to assist the needs of victims affected by floods and landslides in Jayapura City on Friday, January 7, 2022.
A Head of Prevention and Preparedness of the Civil Service Police and Papua Regional Disaster Management, Paminto Widodo said, this public kitchen provides 600 portions of food every day for residents affected by floods and landslides.
“Each shift, we cook 300 portions, we distribute twice respectively, 300 portions for lunch and 300 portions for dinner,” said Paminto Widodo to reporters in Jayapura, Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Those foods said Paminto, will be distributed to residents at three evacuation points, one of which is in the Youtefa Market area. Not only residents, these foods are also given to officers in the field.
“In addition to residents, (we) also give it to the officers and so far it is still sufficient for the needs of the residents, but if there is a request we will increase the portion,” said Paminto while conveying the assistance of noodles from the BUMN Task Force for public kitchens.
In providing food, Paminto added, this public kitchen involves various parties, starting from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the Province and Jayapura City, as well as Community Organizations, NGOs and others.
