goodmorningpapua.com – The Papuan Provincial Government reminded the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to care about health protocols during the Christmas holidays to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
“Papua does not apply PPKM Level 3, but the community and ASN continue to follow existing rules, namely complying with health protocols,” said Assistant for Economic Affairs and Welfare of the Papua Regional Secretariat, Muhammad Musa’ad, Friday, December 17, 2021.
Musa’ad explained that the Christmas holiday for ASN in Papua will take effect from December 22, 2021. During this time, the Papuan Government has also implemented PPKM. “Indeed, it cannot be likened between one district and another. Because some are still at level 1, then it cannot be increased to level 3,” said Musa’ad.
Musa’ad also asked the public to be vaccinated to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. Moreover, Papua is still at the lowest level of vaccination, such as the La Pago and Mee Pago areas which are still below 20 percent.
“We, the local government, together with the TNI-Polri, will hold a joint meeting on how to accelerate the vaccine again. This all has to go on, we have a lot of vaccine stocks but those who want this vaccine are lacking,” he said.
In addition to intensively socializing, said Musa’ad, a persuasive approach will continue to be carried out with community leaders. “There is no other purpose but this is for our good so that our herd immunity can be formed. We will find the right formula so that people voluntarily want to be vaccinated,” said Musa’ad.
Musa’ad hopes that the community will remain responsible by maintaining health protocols. “For the area of Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Merauke and Timika it has been sloping because the vaccination achievement has reached 70 percent,” he said.
