goodmorningpapua.com – A Youth Leader of Jayapura District, Sarlens Ayatonai, fully supports the Special Autonomy (Otsus) policy volume II which has been approved by the government. He considered the policy as a form of concern from the central government for the people of Papua, which are part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
“Otsus has been helping to improve the welfare of the Papuan people. So we need to support and control together in its implementation,” he said, Saturday, August 28, 2021.
He also hopes that the continuation of this Otsus policy can be distributed equally to the people of Papua. For this reason, Sarlens recommends that local governments can intensify socialization and dialogue about Otsus to the community.
“Because, there are still many villagers, especially Kampung Zakamin Arwanof, who do not know about the Otsus funds. We only know about village funds,” he said.
Sarlens also hopes that the central and regional governments will work together continually to make the Otsus program volume II gets success. In addition, it is necessary to create an understanding among the people that the government really concerns about the Papuan people.
“Since Papua is part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, let’s embed the spirit of Pancasila for all Papuans, so that Special Autonomy can be a blessing for Papuans,” he said.
