goodmorningpapua.com – In order to build early childhood education, the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, Kanasugi Kenji visited Papua with UNICEF Indonesia, Robert Gass, PAUD GIDI Anugerah, on Jalan Sosial, Hinekombe Village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province, Monday (18/7/2022) .
The visit was welcomed by the Chair of the Empowerment and Family Welfare (PKK) of Papua Province, Yulce Enembe, along with several members of the PKK management from districts/cities in Papua.
Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, Kanasugi Kenji said the visit was very special for him.
“Today I feel that my visit here is very special, because I participated in the launch of the PAUD partnership project. Children’s education is very important for the world, especially in Indonesia,” said Kanasugi.
He said that he had wanted to visit Papua for a long time. Not surprisingly, the visit to Papua, especially in Jayapura, was very memorable for him.
“So, with that, I would like to express my appreciation and dedication to UNICEF because today we can together launch a learning project, to help vulnerable young children recover from the impact of Covid-19 and rebuild their future, because we want support these children,” he said.
In addition, Kanasugi, also expressed his joy after seeing the smiles on the faces of the students at PAUD GIDI Anugerah.
“I am very happy to be working with the Governor of Papua, in fostering early childhood education in Papua,” he said.
According to Kanasugi, after visiting from PAUD GIDI Anugerah, he will continue his honorary visit to the Governor of Papua, the Papua Police Chief and the Regional Military Commander.

At the same time, Unicef Indonesia Representative, Robert Gass, added that his party is committed to helping Papua in terms of giving rights to children, one of which is the right to health.
“So, we provide access to children for immunization, then nutrition in preventing stunting and currently what we are doing with the Japanese government at the PAUD level, so we believe that from an early age we have to pay attention to children,” he explained.
According to Robert, this attention is not only carried out in Papua, because Unicef itself sees education as important everywhere.
“One of them is that we see opportunities, like in Papua, to provide assistance with a high commitment from the government, so that in the future there will be better opportunities for children in terms of nutrition, health and education,” said Robert
Meanwhile, with this visit, a Chairperson of the Papua Province PKK, Yulce Enembe said he was very grateful and thanked God because PAUD Gidi Anugerah Sentani had received a visit by the Japanese Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia.
“Hopefully in the future this visit can create good cooperation so that early childhood services on the land of Papua can run according to our common expectations,” he concluded.
