goodmorningpapua.com – A heroic action was shown by four Civil Servants of Korem 172 Praja Wira Yakhti (PWY) who helped for evacuating a mother who gave birth on the roadside, Jayapura City, Monday 8 November 2021.
This incident began when four civil servants named Maria Ruru, Ambar Meilani, Erniawan and Maryani Lamba wished to go to Ajendam XVII/Cenderawasih by car to take the 2021 PNS-AD level 1 service exam, at around 05.55 WIT.
On the way, suddenly a man tried to stop the vehicle that was riding on the four civil servants in the area of Jalan Skyline-Jayapura City. The man asked for help in evacuating his wife who was lying on the side of the road and in the condition that she had given birth to a baby girl.
Suddenly, the four civil servants immediately rushed to evacuate the mother and her baby to the Naval Hospital in Hamadi District, Jayapura City for medical treatment. Luckily, the mother, known as Linda Wonda, survived with her new baby.
As a thank you, Linda Wonda and her husband agreed to name their new daughter Maria Novi Wira Yakthi, like Korem 172 Praja Wira Yakthi. The heroic actions of four PWY Korem 172 PNS civil servants were captured in a video recording which has now gone viral on social media.
The Commander of Korem 172/PWY, Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan appreciated the four PNS personnel of Korem 172/PWY who had been swift in providing assistance to the community. For him, the action of the personnels felt special, because Korem 172/PWY was celebrating its 58th anniversary.
“This indicates that Korem 172/PWY will always be there to help the Papuan people,” said Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan.
