A Gospel Monument and a Spiritual Tourism Destination

goodmorningpapua.com – A Chairmanpi Village has the potential to become a spiritual tourism destination in the Yapen Islands Regency, Papua, following the building of the Gospel memorial monument in Kuraen land.

The construction of this monument was marked by the laying of the first stone by a Chairperson of the Yapen Islands GKI Class, Resly Birahi and Assistant II of the Yapen Islands Secretariat, Oktovianus Ayorbaba, Thursday 23 June 2022.

The construction of this monument is also in the context of the 100th anniversary of the entry of the Gospel in the land of Kuraen. Previously, the construction of the monument was also carried out in Bawai Village 2 months ago.

A Regent of Yapen Islands, Tonny Tesar, in his speechs read by Assistant II of the Regional Secretariat, Oktovianus Ayorbaba, conveyed two hopes at the moment of the Commemoration of the Gospel.

First, so that the Commemoration of the Gospel can be used as a momentum to improve oneself from bad worldly habits and turn into more qualified individuals in the eyes of God.

Second, it is a momentum that can raise the spirit, loyalty and perseverance of God’s servants in order to continue the struggle, namely Guru Laurens Tanamal who has brought the light of the gospel into the Land of Kuraen 98 years ago.

“I advise that I still hope for God’s assistance and intervention, so that the monument built can be completed on time as planned,” said Oktovianus.
