A Giant Red and White Flag Extends Outward on the Top of a Mountain in Papua

goodmorningpapua.com – A giant red and white flag is stretched over the top of Mount Alang-Alang Wasior, Papua, Sunday (15/8).

The giant flag is flared by 17 personnel from the Wondama Police, West Papua, to welcome the 76th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence. The team was led by a Head of Traffic Iptu Hanny Salamena.

A total of 17 personnel taking part consisted of 16 male personnel and one female or policewoman. A Head of Traffic, Iptu Hanny Salamena, said that the flaring of the flag on the Alang-Alang hill of Manggurai was a manifestation of the efforts of the Police, through the Wondama Bay Police, to inflame the spirit of independence in the Wondama community.

“So this is the way of the Teluk Wondama Police to arouse nationalism and love for the nation and state, especially for the younger generation,” said Salamena, in a written statement received Sunday (15/8).

According to Salamena, the flaring of the red and white flag on the Alang-Alang hill of Manggurai is carried out with the permission of the Wondama Bay Police Chief AKBP Yohanes Agustiandaru. This activity is expected to increasingly foster the spirit of nationalism.

In addition, the Wondama Bay Resort Police is also expected to be more trusted and proud of the community.

“With the spirit of the 76th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Police remains to be the pride and trust of the community through precision programs making Indonesia strong, Indonesia grows,” said Salamena.
