goodmorningpapua.com – An Acting Governor of West Papua, Komjen Pol (Purn) Drs Paulus Waterpauw, M.Si, accompanied by the Regent of Teluk Bintuni, Ir. Petrus Kasihiw, MT and a Chief of the Arfak Tribe, Drs. Dominggus Mandacan, M.Si did groundbreaking for the construction of the Papua Bethel Church Building, Wednesday 10 August 2022.
The Acting governor is grateful to be present at an important moment as a form of servant in God’s work. He did not forget to invite the audience to always believe in God’s inclusion.
Pj. The Governor of West Papua also gave directions to the leaders of church denominations to prioritize total service to the congregation without conditions. This is important as part of the realization of the Church’s three vocations, namely fellowship (koinonia), witness (Marturia) and serve (diaconia).
“I want to remind the Three Services of Church Vocation [Tri Tugas Panggilan Gereja). There are services or diakonia, which sometimes, parents do not carry out their roles,” he said.

“I miss that time, I really miss it. The servants of God work and serve the people sincerely. Don’t use bargains and requirement. The servants and shamas have a duty to touch souls and save them, don’t just be busy with others,” he said.
Regent of Teluk Bintuni, Ir. Petrus Kasihiw, MT added that the government has a great program and concern related to worship facilities. The Regent invited all religious leaders to take advantage of what the government had provided after the designation of the power plant for worship facilities.
The Regent of Kasihiw explained that the 3 pillars in building Bintuni namely government, religion and customs cannot be separated.
“Indeed, the government’s program so far has given considerable attention to the facilities of worship and it will continue until the end of my term of office and the deputy regent. I invite all religious leaders, both Christians, Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists to work together to use the opportunity through the funds prepared by the government as well as possible according to the designation for building worship facilities,” explained the Regent of Teluk Bintuni.
In addition, the Chief of the Arfak Tribe, Drs. Dominggus Mandacan, M.Si expressed his gratitude to the committee and Arfak’s big family who have provided land for God’s work, so that the church building can be built. The Tribal Chief invites all parties involved to give the same responsibility until the completion of the development stage.
“We all have a responsibility for the building of this church construction, there is for planning, praying, donating either in the form of funds or materials or energy. Let’s support this congregation so that the church building that we put stones in and finally can be built to completion and we are invited to attend like this together inaugurate it,” he said.
