goodmorningpapua.com – The chairman of the Tradition Council of Yewena Tribe, Yosu Johanes Jonas Mentanaway, does not recognize the Papuan Governor Lukas Enembe as the Chief of the Great Tribe in Papua. He considered that there was a political interest in the inauguration of Luke as a tribal chief.
“In the land of Papua, each tribe has own tribe chief, several tribes can sit together and appoint one person who is considered to have power, influence and wealth to be appointed as tribe chief,” said Johanes to reporters, Monday (17/10).
“His party does not regard Lukas Enembe as the head of a great Papuan tribe and sees it as an agenda of political interest in the issue,” he added.
On the other hand, Yosu considered that the examination of Lukas Enembe in the field was wrong because there was no such thing under traditional law.
“Under traditional law, the examination is carried out in a traditional court room,” said Johanes.
Meanwhile, regarding the people who are guarding the residence of Lukas Enembe, they must give the KPK the opportunity to conduct an examination. Citizens are asked to go home and continue their daily activities rather than staying in that place,” he concluded.
It is known that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not been willing to forcibly pick up Papuan Governor Lukas Enembe, even though he has been absent from the investigation team twice. Anti-corruption agencies consider safety aspects in carrying out every action.
“So the second call has consequences, doesn’t it? When he doesn’t come, there must be a presence by force and we know what the conditions are like there. So we also have to look at not only law enforcement, but law enforcement must also pay attention to the safety of the people,” said Deputy Chair of the KPK Alexander Marwata, Sunday (16/10)
Alex said that so far his party is still looking at the conditions regarding the possibility of a forced pick-up. He said his party was still monitoring the matter of conduciveness in Papua.
The KPK has summoned Lukas Enembe to be examined as a suspect at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, Monday, September 26, 2022. However, he did not fulfill the call by reason of illness.
