goodmorningpapua.com – A Papua Governor, Lukas Enembe, became the Ceremony Inspector (Irup) during the commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, which was centered at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, (17/8) yesterday. In commemoration of the independence anniversary, featuring martial arts attractions from the TNI and flute drums.
The Governor stated that the commemoration of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day was a momentum for Papua to move forward and rise from adversity. “Indonesia is a little bit closer to a century in 2045. So Papua must be more advanced,” said Lukas Enembe after becoming Irup.
He then invited all elements of society in Papua to take advantage of Indonesian Independence which was hard earned by the heroes of the nation before. “Let’s fill our independence by maintaining unity and integrity within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, an Assistant II of the Papua Regional Secretariat, Muhammad Musa’ad, stated that the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia should be a momentum for improving development in Papua. “We must rise from adversity and high poverty. We have to get up from that and look at a better future,” said Musa’ad.
It is said, this commemoration is also a momentum to unite in maintaining peace in Papua. Because it is an important instrument so that development can be implemented.
“We have been independent for 77 years, hopefully at the age of 100, where the vision of a golden Indonesia will definitely have an impact on development in Papua, as an integral part of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
Musa’ad also encouraged the local young generation to unite in fulfilling Indonesia’s independence. Because, a country is strong if its people are united, because this difference is natural and cannot be avoided.
“With these differences, it should be a strength and competing into good harmony and we together take part in development in Indonesia,” he said.
As stated by him, now it has been proven that many Indonesian children from Papua have played a role at the national level. “There are those who become deputy ministers, then there are young Papuan people who have led their respective regions. So let’s close ranks, unite the determination to advance Papua,” he added.
In the same place, the Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri said that the situation in Papua was conducive on 17 August. “We are grateful that since yesterday until now the situation in Papua is conducive, yesterday there was a burning incident at the DPRD office in Intan Jaya. But we are in the process, we don’t want to accuse who is the most important thing that the implementation of August 17 can be carried out properly,” the Kapolda told reporters after the RI 77th Anniversary ceremony.
The Kapolda also expressed his gratitude to the Papuan people who took part in celebrating the 77th Indonesian Independence Day. “I hope that at the age of 77, we can knit togetherness within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and advance Papua better than yesterday,” said the Kapolda.
Meanwhile, Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Major General TNI Teguh Muji Angkasa said Papua was in a safe condition. Several incidents yesterday have been resolved, and the Kodam itself always coordinates to find the perpetrators who do things that are not good and inappropriate. “In general, all areas in Papua until now are safe and conducive,” said the Military Commander.
At the moment of independence, the Pangdam advised the public to take lessons and wisdom from the values of the struggle of the Indonesian people who used to really fight for independence.
