4 TNI Soldiers Get Gunshot Wound as Attacked by KKB Terrorists in Papua

goodmorningpapua.com – A mount of 4 TNI members from an Infantry Battalion 403 / WP and a Task Force of Yonif 310 / KK suffered gunshot wounds when intercepted by an Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Bintang Mountains, Papua.

The four soldiers are a task force to secure vulnerable areas.The four TNI soldiers were intercepted while crossing wooden bridge 2, Yapimakot Village, Serambakon District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, Tuesday night (18/5/2021).

“It is true that there was an incident in Pegbin Regency causing four TNI personnel who were members of the security task force for an injury prone areas,” said Dandim 1715 Yahukimo, Lieutenant Colonel Christian Ireuw, who was contacted from Jayapura, Wednesday (19/5).

Meanwhile, efforts to arrest the KKB continued. Previously, a member of the Nemangkawi Task Force was injured in a shootout with an Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Makki Village, Puncak Regency, occurring early Tuesday (18/5).

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Fakhiri in Jayapura, Tuesday (18/5), said that the Nemangkawi Task Force personnel who were injured as a result of being shot in the leg during a firefight with KKB had been evacuated to Illaga Hospital.

It was explained that Makki was one of the villages becoming the basis for the KKB so that members of the Nemangkawi Task Force tried to approach and enter. In the village, reported that there were several KKB leaders, such as Lingkar, Seltius Waker, and Peni Murib.

“The firefight was reported to have lasted until noon,” said Inspector General Fakhiri, adding that currently the law enforcement task force of Nemangkawi was still carrying out cleanups in the Mayuberi village.
