goodmorningpapua.com – A total of 27 documentaries from various districts in the Papua region participated in the 5th Papuan Film Festival (FFP) in Biak Regency. FFP V Committee Chairman Thimothius Rumansara said the festival would be held for four days.
“We, Papuan Voices, will hold the 5th FFP in Biak on August 6-9 2022,” said Thimothius, Saturday (23/7/2022). Rumansara said that this documentary film festival had the theme “Indigenous and Culture, My Dignity and Dignity”.
“That’s the theme, while the sub-theme is knitting culture and restoring ancestral customs as a local wisdom for the younger generation of Papua to maintain dignity,” he said.
He said, there are three major elements in the implementation of the 5th Papua Film Festival.
“The big elements include that we are competing in films (documentary), we are watching and discussing films and the third is we are studying together (workshops),” he said.
Rumansara explained that the 27 films involved came from various regions in Papua such as Biak, Jayapura, Keerom, Wamena, Timika, Asmat, Sorong, Fakfak and other areas.
“From these 20 documentaries, the jury will judge them to be in the top 10 and up to the top three and one favorite film,” he said.
