goodmorningpapua.com – The 2022 Papua Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) increases by Rp 45,232 or 1.29 percent to be Rp 3,561,932. The increasing of UMP is as announced by the Papua Provincial Government.
The announcement of the Papua UMP with number No. 561/13887/SET was signed directly by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Ruikutun, on November 19, 2021.
A Head of the Department of Industry and Trade, SMEs and Papuan Manpower, Omah Laduani Ladamay, said that the discussion on the Papuan UMP involved various parties. The announcement of the Papua UMP was conveyed after the Papua Wage Council Session.
“We have involved various parties, starting from the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo), the All-Indonesian Workers Union (SPSI), the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Cenderawasih University Jayapura and other related parties,” said Laduani.
In addition, continued Laduani, there is a formula for determining the UMP. “So in the session, a joint discussion was carried out, including other supporting data, such as economic growth and inflation,” he explained.
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) has calculated the amount of the 2022 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP). The average increase in the UMP in 2022 is only 1.09 percent.
The 1.09 percent increase is the average figure for all provinces. The UMP will be determined by the governor of each province. The governors have to set the UMP no later than November 21, 2021.
