1,157 Official Journalists Cover PON of Papua

goodmorningpapua.com – The Grand Committee of the National Sports Week (PB PON) XX of Papua has prepared identification cards for 1,157 journalists from all over Indonesia who will cover the quadrennial sports event.

Deputy Secretary IV for Public Relations and PPM PB PON Papua, Kadkis A. Matdoan, in a press release in Jayapura, Friday (13/8), said the number was the result of registering journalists covering PON independently or collectively from the media and KONI throughout Indonesia, which is open by online from 1 July 2020 to 1 April 2021.

“This figure is also added to registrations that are carried out by offline at the same time,” he said.

According to Kadkis, this number will be divided into four clusters, namely the City and Regencies of Jayapura, Merauke and Mimika, where this data will be reported to the leadership for finalization and there will be no additional journalists (after registration is closed).

“Meanwhile, as many as 1,157 journalists covering the PON XX, will be provided an accommodation, consumption and local transportation in each cluster,” he said.

He explained that journalists also get facilities in all media centers, including computers, internet networks and other supporting equipment.

“As for the matter of identification cards, it is certain that it will be completed in the near future because the auction process for making identity cards for journalists covering PON, as well as athletes and officials has been completed,” he said.

For your information, the database of 1,157 journalists covering PON was officially handed over by the Head of the Verification Team for PON Papuan Journalists Covering Hans Alfaro to Deputy Secretary IV for Public Relations and PPM PB PON Papua, Kadkis A. Matdoan on Tuesday (10/8).

A total of 1,175 journalists covering the verified PON consisted of 457 Papuan media, 84 national TV, 81 national online media, 25 national print media and 246 contingent media. Then there are 158 central TVRI, 52 central RRI, 49 Kemenpora PR journalists and 5 SIWO PWI journalists.
