100 Fishermen in Sentani are Trained in Catfish Hatchery and Larval Feed Management

goodmorningpapua.com – The Sentani District Government held a catfish hatchery training and larvae feed management at the Sunni Garden Hotel, Sentani, Jayapura Regency, Papua, Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

The training in the effort to develop the community’s economic business was joined by more than 100 participants from the fishermen group of 7 villages and 2 sub-districts in the Sentani District area.

A Head of Sentani District, Marsuki Ambo explained, this training was a continuation of the program that was designed in 2022 using the Special Autonomy Fund (Otsus) intended for the indigenous people of Sentani.

“We see that in Sentani it is very good to improve the people’s economy, especially in the field of fisheries, we hold this training,” explained Marsuki Ambo to reporters on the sidelines of the training.

This training, continued Marzuki, was held by the cooperation of the Jayapura Regency Fisheries and Maritime Service. This training is also a continuation of the previous training held on July 29, 2022.

“July 29 we have held training how to maintain and develop tilapia and today we focus on hatchery of catfish. The first goal is how we improve the people’s economy, “he said.

In addition to the hatchery of catfish and larvae feed, the Sentani district government will also hold a training technique for the development of smoked fish management which will be supported by the delivery of supporting facilities in the form of oven.

“This activity is one form of implementation of the District Membangun, Membangun District (DMMD) which has been encouraged by the Jayapura Regency Government,” Marzuki said.

The Head of the Jayapura Regency Fisheries and Maritime Agency, Ruddy Saragi, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Sentani District Government in increasing Human Resources (HR) in Jayapura Regency.

He ensured that he would always support every step of the district government to develop the community’s economy, especially native people in Jayapura Regency.

“This is what the regent is expected, there is a good cooperation between the district and the service, therefore I am very appreciation. This training is one of the excellent implementation, especially in the DMMD program, “he said.
